Department of PaintingThe department offers undergraduate degree programmes of B.V.A. The study includes handling of various medias like Pencil, Charcoal, Pen Ink, Conte, Chalk, Crayons, Oil, Acrylics, Gouache, Pastels, Tempera, Wash painting, Encaustic, Collage and Mural. Besides these, students also work in unconventional media, 3-D installations or new media like video art, performance etc. The students also study History of Painting, History of Indian & Western Art and Aesthetics. The objective of the specialisation course in painting is to offer the student with guidance in building skills required for creative visual expression. Painting is the visual expression of experience, thoughts and dreams, which stimulates one’s vision to new realities. The course would seek to cultivate in the student a unique personality and professional responsibility. The department has the flexibility that nurtures the potentiality of budding artists by providing them with ample scope of experimentation. The department is very actively engaged in exhibition, display, slide-show and work-shop, throughout the year. The faculty members are committed in creating skilled professionals who can flourish and make it big in the field of art. The young teachers and students are deeply bonded and are fully engrossed in their studies and execution of responsibilities.
