About the Journal

Scope

Government College of Art & Craft, Tripura has been publishing its yearly bilingual, peer-reviewed Journal on art and culture Ahana (ISSN 2278-1994) since 2009. Accomplished art educators, writers, research scholars, art critics, and art practitioners from various parts of the country, had contributed to this publication. This is the only journal in Tripura, which covers both academic and cultural areas. Ahana is a scholarly platform for discussions on diverse topics related to visual art and culture. Simultaneously it reflects the ethnicity of the North-East India too. Now we are planning to develop the next issue of the magazine as an online version, which is to be published on our institutional website https://gcactripura.in/. Broad areas of representation are:

  • To Analyze and interpret various forms of art.

  • To focus on emerging forms of art and its relationship with technology.

  • To invite and encourage scholarly discussions on commercial art, economy and their interrelationships.

Frequency

Continuous publication distributed to one issue yearly. There may also be Special Issues.
